Presently Youtube owners not providing any direct method to download videos from that website.

Popular download managers like orbit and fdm allows users to download youtube videos in a manner like 'point on running video...right click..click get video".Some youtube specific softwares (google it!) are available (beware:some programs may try to install backends or adwares).You can specify video
URL and download video in these softwares and download.

(These methodes don't need any programs to be installed.)

Numerous websites are there which provide a cool tool (technically it is an ajax tool).You just specify video URL, site will give a download link...right click on that link..and click save target as...then save that file in .flv (flash video) format.eg: save the file as somename.flv.
You need media players that can play flash video files.I highly recommend vlc player (http://videolan.org/). It is a stunning media player.

Mozilla family browsers like Firefox having Add-ons(?) and scripts which allow us to download Youtube videos.I think most scripts needed Greasemonkey Add-on be installed.

I think opera browser also having Greasemonkey Add-on and like these support.I don't use internet explorer so i dunno abt that.

Further:
You
cannot play flash video files in CD players or mobiles.You need to
convert flash videos into required formats like ogg, mpeg, mp4, 3gp, wmv etc.You need video converters (or editors) like mediacoder () to convert these videos if it is necessary.
