WoW!!!!!damn idea!
its working yaa...
but if we set an image as wallpaper it will be there when we close that image know...here its not like that...when we close vlc, background video also disappearing right?
it will be more interesting when we turn on our system...a video on the desktop...really we will be like WOW!!!
I think you may have to use job-specific apps for that.Just google it.But when i checked about some apps to play videos as backgrounds, they seemed to be pretty buggy.VLC is still the best.
and...
If you use Repeat and Shuffle options in VLC you can have a continous video playing experience.Make a playlist of favourite videos and turn SHUFFLE on.Videos will be played automatically.Again If you close VLC video wallpaper will be closed!
What to do!Compromise yaar! :-)
This will not work in Ubuntu...i think..right?
When i refresh desktop, the video stops as wallpaper. Is there any way for to resolve this?
@ Joe Jackson:
VLC in Ubuntu uses OpenGL instead of DirectX.But there is some programs available or we can tweak Ubuntu for that.Don't know detail.
@ rishi:
Yes its stoping while we refreshing! We can't do nothing about that!Actually I checked when u told! :-)
Run any video fullscreen in VLC DirectX mode and take printscreen; paste it in mspaint, save the image. Set it as your background. Now try wallpaper mode in VLC. Video won't disappear when refreshing. But common way to loop the video triggers vlc to reappear at desktop once per loop. Use the A to B loop option in VLC instead. even that feature seems buggy in VLC; I had to select both A & B within first 50% of the video to make it work.
@Subhasis:
Thanx for the great tip..bt unfortunately i had completely migrated to Ubuntu Linux...so i cudn't try your tip.. :(
Btw... migrating to Ubuntu was not "unfortunate" though!!!

This is awesome.. Thank you.. Just do not refresh your desktop while playing, otherwise the background video disappears.. XD
This is Great..!! ^_^
Great, but is there any method to make the video not to disapear during refresh? i tried by taking snapshot of the video and making it desktop background (after saving it as jpg).. if we can stop the disapearance, that will be great.

This is the perfect blog for anyone who wants to know about this topic. You know so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really would want…HaHa). You definitely put a new spin on a subject that's been written about for years. Great stuff, just great results!
Portobello Square is a high-profile regeneration project near Portobello Road, Notting Hill. The property development is being built on the site of the Wornington Green estate and will include apartments, mews houses and family houses.
It would completlt depend upon what OD you are using because if it is above Vista than you may use Dream Scene from Microsoft itself else VLC Player would best option to make it possible.
